In October, the Pump Centre teamed up with Scottish Water to host their second mini-conference of the year at the Garfield House Hotel in Glasgow. The theme of the event was ‘Digital Innovation in the Water Industry’.
The conference was a full house, with delegates and exhibitors coming together to highlight the key opportunities for digital innovation in the sector. A key focus was how technological advancements can contribute to improved asset reliability and quality of asset inspections.
Gordon Raffel, Principal Mechanical Engineer at Scottish Water, led the mini-conference and shared his expertise on how we can utilise digital innovation to drive growth. Gordon shared:
“Digital innovation is a key topic in the water industry, and it was a big part of last year’s Water Equipment Show. At WES, there was a huge use of technology for inspections and supporting operators in what they do, so it seemed right to have this at the forefront of this year’s theme.
It’s great to be here alongside delivery people and suppliers, as it gives us the opportunity to share what we are doing at Scottish Water, and hear what other people are doing too.”
