The Pump Centre is pleased to welcome Torishima Europe’s Emma Copson to the Pump Centre Council.
The Pump Centre Council seats elected members from within the organisation, alongside the Chair, Vice Chair, and Manager for a 24 month period to support the Pump Centre’s performance, growth, and the achievement of its objectives.
With Asset Management Period 8 (AMP8) officially beginning next month, 2025 is shaping up to be an impactful year for The Pump Centre and the water industry as a whole. In addition to this pivotal period of change, we have seen many initiatives started which need to be seen through before the end of this council’s tenure in December. It was therefore unanimously decided by the council that it would be best practice to fill this space to ensure the organisation could run at maximum capacity.
Engineering Experience at Home and Abroad
Emma Copson works as a Sales Manager for specialist pump manufacturer and industrial service provider Torishima Europe, and has over 30 years of experience within pump engineering and the water industry. Following several years working as an application engineer in Dubai, she moved back to the UK to immerse herself in the country’s water industry again. It has been a year since she began working in her current role at Torishima Europe. The overseas branch of the original Japanese company champions pump innovation, specialised services, and customised solutions with an emphasis on sustainability to push the industry forward.
Emma Copson shared:
“I am incredibly excited to have been accepted onto the Pump Centre Council. Having been an Engineer for over thirty years, it is a wonderful opportunity to be involved in something that directly affects us all within the Water Industry. At Torishima, we are committed to innovation and excellence in pumping solutions, and I look forward to bringing this expertise to the council. AMP8 brings us many challenges, but also many opportunities. I hope that I can help address some of the issues that affect us all and positively contribute with my engineering experience in both the UK and internationally. The Pump Centre is uniquely positioned to support its members and Engineers in the Water Industry as we work together to deliver AMP8 and I am thrilled to be a part of it as a council member. I look forward to seeing you all at WES2025.”
Copson is serving a 12 month term, filling in the vacant position on the council between now and the beginning of the next official 24 month office term in January 2026. She will be providing input into the development and implementation of Pump Centre policy and strategy on behalf of the membership.
